WVU names what it wants unusually plainly: applicants must show strong experiences in patient care including MD shadowing, roles as educator and leader, research, and service to West Virginia and beyond. The Committee on Admissions is charged with selecting students who give evidence they will fulfil the school's mission, which centres on rural Appalachian communities and primary care.
